Check the behaviour of your packaging in a sorting plant
What is a sortability test?
A sortability test evaluates a package’s ability to be accurately detected and directed to the appropriate flow during industrial sorting processes.
These tests are conducted in operational sorting facilities, under real, day-to-day conditions, in France or any other country, depending on your packaging and your sales strategy.
Who is it for?
- Organizations placing packaging on the market that want to assess its detectability and effectiveness within sorting systems
- Companies designing packaging in the prototype or semi-finished phase, looking to anticipate and address potential sorting challenges before market launch

Our Approach
Our sortability tests evaluate whether characteristics such as colour, shape, size or material affect a package’s detection and sorting performance. The protocol is based on:
- Introduction of a large volume of samples (over 100) into an operational sorting facility
- Fully tracking each product’s journey through every stage of the sorting process
- Identifying the final flow into which the packaging is directed
In addition, we conduct both static and dynamic tests on optical sorting equipment to provide a more precise analysis of detectability.
